History Of District Court Panchkula

                             

 Initially on 3rd Day of June 1996 two courts were established at Panchkula. Sh.R.K.Kashyap joined as Civil Judge (Senior Division)-cum-Chief Judicial Magistrate, Panchkula. Shri Y.S. Rathore joined as Civil Judge (Junior Division), Panchkula. Shri Darshan Singh first Addl. District & Sessions Judge at Panchkula joined on 07.03.2000. In the beginning these courts were a part of Ambala Sessions Division.

                District Panchkula attained its identity as Separate Sessions Division on 09.05.2005 with Shri Arvind Goel (who retired as Judge of Hon'ble Punjab and Haryana High Court, Chandigarh), as its First District & Sessions Judge. Sh. Ravi Kumar Sondhi is presently posted as District & Sessions Judge, Panchkula.

                    There is one exclusive CBI Court, Haryana presided over by Sh.Rakesh Kumar Yadav, Addl. District & Sessions Judge.  Three Courts of Additional District & Sessions Judges being presided over by Ms.Gurvinder Kaur, Sh.Rajesh Garg and Sh.Amit Sharma,one Court of Civil Judge (Senior Division) being presided over by Dr.Atul Marya, one Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate being presided over by Ms.Bhawna Jain and three courts of Civil Judges (Junior Division) being presided over by Ms.Anudeep Kaur Bhatti,Sh.Amit Verma and Ms.Diksha Dass Ranga respectively are also working at Panchkula. Sh.Sunil Chauhan is working as Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Whole Time Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Panchkula.  These courts are situated in Sector- 1, Panchkula.

               District Bar Association, Panchkula has inherited all its traits, traditions and qualities from its parent Bar i.e. District Bar Association, Ambala which has produced many legal luminaries.
